Whether you're hosting the party, or just showing up, you're going to be remembered for how you participated. Did you bring the hot shoes? Or the sizzling draaaank? I will not be hosting New Year's Eve this year (2011 -- you're finally in eyesight), but a few ditties that will be in attendance with moi:
My new Steve Madden "Caryssag" Glitter Pumps
{stevemadden.com, $169}
They complement my cream-colored poof skirt just fabulously,
and they add the perfect amount of sparkle.
Always bring food.
In the spirit of New Year's Eve and in sticking with our 2011 sparkly chic theme, I'm bringing two of my very favorite sweets. Cupcakes and chocolate-covered strawberries, with a twist. Edible glitter is kind of hard to come by, but you can take the sloppiest of homemade cupcakes, stick them in some shiny, festive wraps and sprinkle edible silver glitter on them, making them THE perfect New Year's treat.
Chocolate-covered strawberries? Cover them in white chocolate for a chicer effect.
The party doesn't start until you show up with the coolest bottle. And this year, my favorite is Dan Akroyd's Crystal Head Vodka. It retails for about $50, and I'm pretty sure that even your boyfriend's impressive four thirty-racks will not be able to compare.
