Sweet Holiday Cheer.

Ever since we were introduced to Whitney Port's new PR-interest, Alison Brod, on the MTV television series, The City, of Alison Brod Public Relations (remember that episode?), I've wanted a Dylan's Candy Bar-esque assortment of candies in scoop-it-yourself glass jars adorning all the end tables in my bedroom.

My room is, what you'd imagine it to be, a gut-wrenching bubble gum pink, much like Alison's office, and I'd always entertained the idea of paralleling my living space to her working space.

A little over the top to to create a mini candy-bar in my bedroom? Do you know who you're dealing with? I immediately rushed out to purchase a handful of various sizes and shapes of clear jars, and filled them with white M&Ms, silver candy-coated almonds, watermelon Jolly Ranchers and an assortment of pink and white gum balls.

In light of the holiday, I figured what a fabulous project you can undertake as a temporary, festive gesture. Hard up for cash? Clear vases or generic around-the-house containers do the trick, too -- as long as you have a little variety of shapes and sizes, so your collection doesn't look too coordinated. Fill your jars with holiday goodies, like candy canes or Hannukah gelt. Looking for a festive gift? Tying a velvet red or green ribbon around a container filled with your choice candies or chocolates make a lovely token something to bring to your boyfriend's family soiree.
