There's always beauty in the breakdown.

When I was in college, I was constantly redecorating my itty-bitty bedroom, since I thought that if I took my OCD to the rest of the apartment, my roommate would lose her head. So, every month or so, I found myself changing bits and pieces, corner by corner. My antique gold-rimmed mirror shifted from the side of my bed to the side of my chiffonier, to resting against a tarnished stool by my desk. The color scheme changed often, too, from deep scarlet throws and area rugs, to blush pink accessories and bed sheets. Regardless of how frequently I changed the look of my bedroom though, one thing remained constant: my love for all things beautiful and feminine. Beauty has always been a requirement of anything that I own, and my personal space is no exception.

Pro: Antique anything. I am partial to mirrors that look as though they've been around since the Civil War, tarnished trinkets that add girly touches wherever they are placed, glasses and bottles in various shapes and sizes (to be used for filling with perfume, mints and hair ties), and fake flowers (though I have to fight my mother every inch of the way on that one - like Carrie Bradshaw, I just don't do living and breathing plants).
