Trendy Connecticut.

When it comes to bar hopping in Connecticut { namely, Fairfield County } the options don't seem too great. I tend to be a fan of the local townie bars, mostly because I never go out with the intention of meeting new people, but rather just to unwind and giggle a bit. However, every once in awhile, it's nice to emulate a New York City Saturday night. My latest favorite drink spot is hands down, Sweet Basil, in Fairfield, located right off I-95. While it's not exactly a full-blown bar (okay, they totally serve the best Asian-fusion cuisine -- crab ragoons are to die), the gentleman that introduced me also informed me that they boast the best mojito around. Never a fan of mojitos before, I now find myself venturing into Fairfield more often than not for their tall glasses of tangy liquor. The best part about Basil's mojitos? Each drink comes with giant sugar canes that honestly, make the drink infinitely better, and sweeter, if you can handle it!

I'd be remiss not to let you in on other fabulous and fun Fairfield County gems (and my favorites) like

O-Bar { also in Fairfield }
Red LuLu { South Norwalk }
Viva Zapata { Westport }
The Julep Lounge { New Canaan, 203-801-9501 }

Especially if you enjoy a nice glass of Pinot Grigio, sangria or a crazy margarita.

If you have any favorite Fairfield County hot spots, please feel free (as a matter of fact, I encourage you) to drop them under the comments section. I am not shy to frequenting a bar that comes highly recommended!
