Tell It Like It Is, Part II.

The worst is when a guy thinks he knows, but in reality, he just doesn't have a clue. 

I know I've said before that it's the girls that know how to communicate and it's the guys that don't, but I haven't really gone into detail about the girls who think they're good communicators (but in fact, really suck). Let's break it down, so you can get a feel for whether or not your guy knows what's really on your mind.

He knows how you feel when:

Him: I know we made plans tonight, but Matt just got tickets to a game and I have to go.

You: What?! We've been planning this forever. If you go, I'm going to be pissed.

But everything's cool in his book if:

Him: I know we made plans tonight, but Matt just got tickets to a game and I have to go.

You: {eye roll} Whatever.

You see the difference? As girls, we understand that in either scenario, the girlfriend here is not happy. But in the second scenario, the guy is going to think that you were ultimately okay with his decision. Sure, you made it clear that you were annoyed with your eye roll (if he even caught it), but when he calls you after the game, he expects things to be peachy. Yes? You know they never will be. Guys, to no fault of their own, will just never pick up on your angry cues, if they are not spoken. It's your responsibility to keep your head on straight, your emotions in tact and verbalize how you're feeling. I will never sympathize with the girlfriend that shrugs her shoulder and tosses her hair when she is really crying on the inside.
