It's like -- bitter, bitter cold outside, and lately I've found myself throwing on whatever I can that I know will keep me the warmest: leggings, sweats on top of that, leg warmers piled underneath my boots, layers of thermals and finally, a heavy duty winter jacket and wrap-around scarf. The truth is though, the only outside transitions I happen to make is when hopping from my house to my car, and then to my destination point: a heated building. So today, I've decided to ditch looking like a homeless Mary Kate Olsen or Johnny Depp (does anyone watch Chelsea Lately? Anyone?) and went off to grab my Starbucks black tea with vanilla soy in, should I say, more style? I kept the hobo tradition alive with my leggings and leg warmers, but today, I pulled my leg warmers over a pair of cobalt stilettos. I opted for a cozy, oversized boho fur vest on top of one long-sleeve thermal. I ditched the scarf and went for a beret, instead. The consensus? I felt more pulled together, looked like a somewhat stylish human being (after all, isn't your outfit the most crucial on your morning coffee run? Yes, yes. I know) and couldn't say I was significantly less freezing, although the walk through my somewhat plowed driveway was a bit of a challenge.
Tired of living in layers? Peel them off and stick to single, heavy duty pieces. Chances are, they will warm you just as well and you won't look like you've packed on winter weight. Pops of color cheer everything up in this Winter Wonderland, as well.
The cupcakes?
Completely random, but completely gratuitous.
I found these gems while picture-hopping online, and they seem like they'd make the most perfect winter treats. Definitely spending some time looking up the actual source of these accessory embellished sweets.
