I Love You.. {Not}

I'll be the first to admit, I've dropped the "L" bomb on more than one occasion, when a statement of such grandeur was not only unnecessary, it was totally uncalled for (and how freakin' embarrassing). One thing girls love like to do and hear in return? Saying "I love you." We can't help it, we're programmed to express our feelings, and this phrase in particular, is one that we loooooove to overuse.

...even if we don't really mean it.

I'm a lovebugWhat the f is that? I will tell almost everyone that I care about, that I love them. It's just my way of expressing how I feel, even though it is an exaggerated version of the truth. Obviously, there are different types of I love yous, and the problem? We will often spill our guts to our guys using the forbidden "L," when we're just not ready to say it (and when they're not ready to hear it).

But who even cares? Why even address this?
Most guys are so terrified of being told this (which is our innocent and impromptu way of spilling our feelings) that their reaction to our emotions can not only be ugly, it can be fatal to your relationship. More relevant is this topic because 'tis the season of mush. Christmas-time is always that do-or-die holiday, where your relationship can quickly flourish... or turn. Take care to collect your thoughts in a tactful manner. If you are not one-hundred percent sure that your boyfriend will be able to reciprocate your feelings, perhaps it's best you hold off breaking the news.
