the Dark Side.

When I go out at night, my drink of choice never wavers. It's always a glass of wine (or Veuve) or a Malibu Bay Breeze, the ultimate in girly drinks, so it's no surprise I typically find myself gravitating to flirtier outfits, too. I like my bows and my ruffles, my lace and my flower patterns, my blush pinks and my nudes. But every once in awhile, it's nice venturing to the dark side. I love a solid leather jacket, whether I pair it with the most feminine of spring length dresses and booties or ripped grey skinnies and studded Jeffrey Campbells. Edgier t-shirts, whether they come from Hot Topic (you read that correctly) or Forever 21 always make me feel significantly more Taylor Momsen than Ashley Olsen. If you find that your closet is absolutely void of anything dark or edgy, it's a pretty simple look to create from what you're actually working with. A pair of black leggings can easily transform with the help of a pair of nail clippers (cut, cut, cut!) to create edgy little rips. Pull your baggier of t-shirts out and stretch them at the neck a bit so they don't fall so neatly, but rather hang off your shoulder. Stack your jewelry -- and honestly, the more the pieces do not match, the better. Black apparel can be chic, but it can also be grungy and edgy, so it's pretty simple to turn almost anything you own of the color to the dark side.

  2. Aren't they fabulous???? I wish! A little out of budget at the moment, unfortunately. ;)
