I'm typically the one getting off on the slightly bizarre -- the difference in things are, to me, what makes them beautiful. So, when Lady Gaga first hit the music scene, I couldn't help but admire (no, not gawk at) her over-the-top, ridiculous wardrobe. It's her unpredictability and difference in the entertainment world that keeps people on their toes. Her oddities are what keep her relevant as "What is Lady Gaga going to wear next?" is always questioned.
I like following by example. I am enamored by the slightly unusual, twisted and bizarre. Plus, the more unique your taste, the greater your sense of style {usually}.
{How hot are these DIY sconces? A bright idea for any modernly decorated living room or study to place fresh-picked flowers in bulbs. Hang them by twisted copper wire for an appropriately themed finish. Not only do these look incredibly chic and fabulous, they're probably amongst the cheapest sconces you will ever find}
{I haven't been to any weddings recently, although I know a ton of newly engaged couples. While these "bride and groom" gourmet chocolate-dipped apples are store-bought, you can simply make them at home with a pastry brush and some meltable white and milk chocolate. Guaranteed to be one of the most (if not the most) adorable gifts at the bridal shower}
{This ring is just so... cool. I've never seen one quite like this, and I'm taken by Victoria Mason's extensive collection of chic, unique jewelry. This ring, in particular, retails for $68}
{I work with kids... a lot. And sometimes, it's just about getting silly to ease the play-date. Simple finger puppets take about three-minutes, and all you need is a sharpie (for your fingers) and a Crayola magic marker for theirs. It's creative, and kills a boatload of time}
{Another ring I found to be absolutely exquisite is this sparkling Octopus ring by Noir Jewelry. It's dark and creepy, but so fun at the same time}
